🇮🇳 100 Million Indians on ChatGPT

India just hit a massive milestone: 100 million weekly ChatGPT users. Sam Altman confirmed the number ahead of the India AI Impact Summit, making India OpenAI's second-largest market globally.

Key details:

  • Altman said India is ChatGPT’s second-largest user base after the United States
  • OpenAI launched "ChatGPT Go" under $5/month with native UPI payment support.
  • One in eight ChatGPT users worldwide is now Indian-adoption is accelerating fast.
  • Students, developers, and small businesses are driving the AI surge across the country.

Why it matters: A billion people discovering AI simultaneously isn't just a market opportunity-it's a global shift. India could become the world's largest AI user base within years, reshaping how products are built, priced, and localized. The race to win India is now the race to win AI.

🧠 Anthropic Drops Claude Sonnet 4.6

Anthropic released Claude Sonnet 4.6, It scores 79.6% on SWE-bench Verified — within 1-2 points of their flagship Opus model. Same price. Five times cheaper than the top tier.

Key details:

  • Hybrid reasoning model with a massive 1M token context window now in beta.
  • 79.6% SWE-bench and 72.5% OSWorld-nearly matching Opus 4.6 performance.
  • Context compaction auto-summarizes older context, stretching effective memory even further.
  • Knowledge cutoff is August 2025-six months fresher than Sonnet 4.5.

Why it matters: Anthropic just made frontier-level AI accessible at mid-tier pricing. Developers get Opus-level coding and reasoning without the Opus-level bill. When the gap between "good enough" and "best" shrinks to 1-2%, the smart money picks the cheaper option. Claude Sonnet 4.6 might just become the new default.

👓 Apple Goes All-In on AI Wearables

Apple is building three AI-powered wearables: smart glasses (2027), an AI pendant/pin, and camera-equipped AirPods (possibly 2026). All three will let Siri see your world and respond contextually.

Key details:

  • Smart glasses will launch early 2027 -Apple's answer to Meta's Ray-Ban partnership.
  • An AI pendant or pin clips to clothing and captures surroundings for Siri queries.
  • Camera-equipped AirPods could arrive as early as 2026 with visual AI capabilities.
  • Apple's betting the post-iPhone future lives on your face, not in your pocket.

Why it matters: Apple rarely enters a category unless they plan to dominate it. These wearables signal a strategic pivot: AI that sees, hears, and responds in real-time. If Apple nails the UX, they could define how a billion people interact with AI daily-no screen required.

🎨Figma Turns Claude Code Builds Into Editable Designs

Figma just launched a feature that captures live UIs from your browser-production, staging, or localhost-and converts them into fully editable Figma designs. Powered by Claude Code and Figma's MCP server.

Key details:

  • Developers can now push live code directly into Figma as editable design components.
  • Designers can tweak real UI elements without waiting for handoff or screenshots.
  • The integration uses Claude Code's AI to interpret and structure the captured UI.
  • Works across production sites, staging environments, and even localhost dev servers.

Why it matters: The design-to-code gap has plagued teams for years. This flips the script: code-to-design. Developers and designers finally work from the same artifact. Fewer miscommunications, faster iterations, and a workflow that actually matches how modern products get built.

💀 Meta Patents an AI That Posts After You Die

Meta secured a patent for an AI system that can take over a deceased user's Facebook or Instagram account-and keep posting, commenting, even making voice calls in their style.

Key details:

  • The AI analyzes posts, comments, likes, messages, and voice patterns to replicate you.
  • It can generate new content, respond to friends, and maintain your "digital presence" forever.
  • Meta says they have "no current plans" to implement it-but the patent exists.
  • Reddit's reaction was swift: "Dystopian," "Black Mirror vibes," "grief exploitation."

Why it matters: This isn't just creepy tech-it raises fundamental questions about consent, identity, and digital ownership after death. Who controls your AI clone? Can loved ones opt out? What happens when grief meets algorithmic engagement? Some innovations feel like they shouldn't exist. This might be one of them.
